Canonical
DrKu.net Canonical Statement
The asset continues. Evidence must too.
DrKu.net is the canonical thought-leadership and research platform for the industrial work of Dr. Howard Ku on engineering evidence, steel-pipe and pipeline lifecycle integrity, project execution and defensible engineering decision-making.
“An engineering decision is only as defensible as the evidence that still supports the claim being made in the context in which that decision is taken.”
DrKu.net Canonical Proposition
Asset continuity does not imply evidence continuity.
A physical asset may remain identifiable and operational while the evidence previously used to support engineering claims may have become incomplete, contextually outdated, superseded, transferred without sufficient provenance, affected by configuration or condition changes, or insufficient for a new decision purpose.
DrKu.net does not claim to have invented the generic phrase “evidence continuity.” Its contribution is a specific mill-to-end-of-life synthesis for steel-pipe and pipeline systems, supported by the published research corpus.
01
Scope
DrKu.net studies evidence continuity across:
manufacturing; qualification; procurement; logistics; project execution; commissioning and handover; sensing and operational data; inspection; integrity assessment; digital systems; AI-assisted analysis; reassessment; lifecycle transition; and end of life.
02
Lifecycle Perspective
- Manufacturing evidence supports qualification.
- Qualification evidence supports procurement and project decisions.
- Project evidence becomes part of the handover record.
- Handover establishes the initial operational evidence baseline.
- Inspection, sensing, operating history and reassessment change the evidence available for continued-service decisions.
- Transitions may require evidence to be revalidated or a new evidence case to be established.
03
What DrKu.net Is
- +an authored industrial research corpus
- +a lifecycle knowledge architecture
- +a publication and citation gateway
- +an educational resource
- +a platform for future research extensions
04
What DrKu.net Is Not
- −an engineering standard
- −a certification body
- −a regulatory authority
- −a substitute for applicable codes or regulations
- −project-specific engineering advice
- −a manufacturer product catalogue
- −an employer’s official technical position
05
Publication Discipline
Published white papers retain their own version numbers and DOI records.
DrKu.net provides stable landing pages that connect those works into a lifecycle-wide research architecture.
Future versions must not create new DrKu.net URLs merely because the version number changes.
06
Research Layers
Published Corpus
The 33 versioned white papers, each with its own DOI record.
Framework Synthesis
The lifecycle architecture that connects the published works.
Applications
Pathways showing where the research is relevant in practice.
Academy
Educational resources derived from the published corpus.
Glossary
Working definitions of the terms used across the platform.
Research Extensions
Future directions — never presented as established findings.
Unpublished extensions are not presented as established findings.
